Barties Boutique

Hi all,

I thought I’d try my hand at another market after I had such a great time at Brighton Craftaganza a few weeks back.

This time I will be selling my quilty wares at Barties Boutique in Worthing, on Saturday 12th May, in the very beautiful St Pauls Church.  This amazing venue is the perfect spot for a craft market, with its amazing architecture, on site coffee shop selling gorgeous coffees, teas, cakes and other yummy items.

Please try and pop along and support local makers!

Happy Friday everyone,

Leigh

Some quilts from last year

I realised I’d been a bit behind in uploading images of what I’ve been working on over the last 12 months or so… there have been quite a few quilts, but here are some I particularly enjoyed making.

The Sewing Summit – just a little bit excited!!

So last year I was banging on about how lovely it would be in my fabricy dream world if by chance, just maybe, if a fairy dropped some dust on my life, I would be able to attend this amazing event in Salt Lake City, UT… I dreamed and dreamed, I drooled over the agenda, and then filed in in the back of my mind as one of those things that would have been lovely to attend.

Well what a difference one little year makes because I’M GOING TO SALT LAKE CITY  in October !!!!!

I think I might faint with excitement, I have booked my plane ticket already (so I have to go now!!) and eagerly awaiting 9am MST when early registration opens… This is my idea of heaven… rooms and rooms full of gorgeous fabric, gorgeous like minded sewists who also dream in fabric, where all day we will talk about… fabric!!!

Well that’s me smiling for the next 6 months then.

Happy Tuesday,

Leigh

Oooo a new one from one Lauren and Jessi Jung!

For those of you that know me, you’ll know how much I love Botany by Lauren and Jessi Jung … I’ve made more than a few quilts out of it in the past. So you can imagine how excited I was to learn that they have a new floral range out called “Flora“that I wasn’t aware of, which is equally as gorgeous.

Girls cot quilt

Everything these ladies touch turns to pure fabric gold, and I can’t wait to get my first order of this scrumptious range… now I just need a quilt to make it with.

Happy Tuesday,

Leigh

Only one little week to go!

Well things at Quilty Pleasures have been just a little bit manic these past few weeks, in preparation for Brighton Craftaganza.

I’ve been steaming over a hot sewing machine to try and get some examples of my quilts and other lovely bits and bobs over to the VERY talented Mrs Ruby Roux for her to photograph. I must say I am super impressed with what she’s done, and I can’t wait to show you her gorgeous shots once they are all finalised.

Enough from me for now as I’ve got to get back to the sewing machine… hope to see you all in Brighton next Saturday.

Happy Friday,

Leigh

Quilty Pleasures’ first ever Brighton Craft Market!!

Hello all, sorry about the lack of activity during the last few weeks, but my family and I were taking a well deserved break in South Africa! It’s been a while since I’ve been back home, and I had forgotten what a truly magical and beautiful country it is.

So now back to the cold and to work, and I have some very exciting news to share…

I am so excited to have been offered a stall at the next Brighton Craftaganza, which will take place on Saturday 24th March. This amazing event is jam packed with creatively talented people, and I am so honoured to have been selected to show my wares amongst them.

I would love to see you all there – please tell all your friends to pop along too and show your support for local artists!

Now I’m off to finish off the 184 quilt tops I haven’t backed and bound yet :-) !
